Introduction
Around the 2010’s Telehealth arose as a complete paradigm shift in home health care. Clinicloud, a newly formed start up aimed to provide a complete Telehealth solution; connected medical devices and software which were easy to use and understand.
The Clinicloud App Platform was the link between patient, doctor, and device. For example a parent could create a temperature recording of their child which was then automatically shared with family members through the app, if required the recording could be shared online with their doctor through the web portal.
Research
Our launch strategy was specifically focused towards new parents. Alongside online surveys a series of in person interviews and workshops were conducted with new parents. Observation sessions were also conducted with new mums to understand their hands on interaction with the devices. From these observations a series of personas were created alongside a detailed user journey map documenting user actions, emotions, and feedback.
Insights from these interviews and surveys were summarised to the following: Parents found existing market offerings complicated. New mums experienced regular moments of self doubt and insecurity when their newborns were unwell. New parents felt overwhelmed in the first months and found medical charts and data intimidating and confusing.
Opportunities
Early on it became clear we had a significant opportunity to create a highly differentiated market leading product. To fully realise this opportunity we needed to create a product which was easy to use, provided accurate and reassuring medically backed information, and most importantly provided a calm and friendly space new parents could easily navigate and understand.
Key Features
User Pathways
Colour pathways established clear navigational and contextual awareness within the app. In the temperature recording flow above, the user is guided end to end through a blue-toned environment. This strengthened the user's familiarity with the app, during moments of stress or panic they could still confidently navigate the app.
Result Cards
Result cards formed the foundation of the CliniCloud App platform. They provide a consistent, modular, and reconfigurable layout for all result categories. Users expect and in return receive information in the exact same location every time, providing solid comprehension and interaction confidence. Infinitely expandable, result sessions provided users with clear, engaging, and relevant information about their health.
From App to Web
The CliniCloud app was designed as a flexible modular platform for mobile, tablet, and the web. The cards resize to form a consistent and familiar user experience on any sized device, allowing users to log in and view their health data at home, or with their doctor. Designing highly flexible components allowed us to maintain highly efficient and lean development sprints.
Conclusion
In the end we delivered a highly innovative and intuitive product our users loved. We designed a safe space for the thousands of active CliniCloud users across the globe to take better care of their little ones with clear and accurate information. Users were able to seamlessly use our connected devices with the CliniCloud App Platform to manage, understand, and share their medical data like never before.
